cold tangerines

just finished this book last nite. absolutely wonderful and life refreshing. i think it would be a wonderful summer treat for a close friend. put it on a friend's porch with a little tangerine, one with the leaves still attached. include a note telling her to enjoy and then pass on in the same manner. your friends will thank you! i am going to drop it off to my best friend this morning.

shauna niequist reminds us to celebrate life with every passing moment. i will leave you with this line in the first chapter. . . "I believe that this way of living, this focus on the present, the daily, the tangible, this intense concentration not on the news headlines but on the flowers growing in your own garden, the children growing in your own home, this way of living has the potential to open up the heavens, to yield a glittering handful of diamonds where a second ago there was coal." (cold tangerines, page 17)
