gorgonzola & pears



 last week, madeira and i tried to go to the farmers market.  after circling all of the way to the top of the parking garage, taking a cool photo of the building next door (i had never noticed it before) climbing the stairs down to the street and stopping by the first booth to take a photo of some very spring like carrots we headed back up the stairs and circled back down the parking garage empty handed-after a few rounds of “up-y, up-y, my legs are tired, hold me, i want a snack, i have to go potty”.  i knew it was not going to work.  tomorrow, we will try again. and i HOPE it is successful because i would love to get these ingredients fresh and take them home to cook up this flatbread and a great big salad. . .i have tried a version of this before, but this sounds very fresh and delightful!

Gorgonzola Pear Flatbread  (from melt by amr)

pizza dough (trader joes has a yummy one)

shredded white cheese (havarti, gouda, or mozarella)

thinly sliced pears

caramelized walnuts

crumbled gorgonzola cheese

fresh sage leaves

brush olive oil on rolled out dough. layer ingredients in above order. bake on bottom rack at 500 degrees for about 8 minutes. serve bubbly hot.
